This is an accessory that has an organic and natural approach to the future of fashion, created in Barcelona, Spain. Each piece is embroidered with cotton threads that makes our handkerchiefs unique and original. With the Starwhite hemp handkerchief we suggest an alternative to decrease the use of disposable paper handkerchiefs. Its special attention to design leaves room for functionality as a pocket square: you can choose to show off the embroidery or opt for the smooth side. Material:

Hemp is one of the oldest and most environmentally friendly textiles in the world, still competing with the most modern materials. It is a high-yielding renewable resource that grows in 3 to 4 months, requires little water and no pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers during its cultivation, so it is considered sustainable. The textile fiber is extracted from the part of the trunk and is considered the longest and strongest of plant origin.

• Hemp fabric is great for summer as it is a breathable material, thermoregulator, it can absorb moisture and resists mold.
• It is an exceptionally durable fabric, the tensile strength is 8 times higher than cotton.
• It protects from the sun due to its UV reflective quality.
• It is hypoallergenic and non-irritating to the skin and above all, it is naturally antibacterial, since there are no nutrients in the fibrous part of the plant (they are concentrated in the seeds of the plant).

Its yield is fast and superior to that of other natural fibers: it can produce 250% more textile fibers than cotton and 600% more than flax. The cost of production is still high due to the scarce quantity of transformers of the raw material.

Washing:

Hemp can be hand washed cold or machine washed at any temperature, up to 60°. Garments are not damaged, in fact, they tend to soften after frequent washing and use. The dryer can weaken the hemp faster as it loses strength, but gains softness!
